Joanne Koskie

Vice President

“What I love most about my job is empowering people to bring about change that benefits society.”

Joanne Koskie is vice president, Cohn & Wolfe  | Toronto, and responsible for all aspects of healthcare communications, with a focus on stakeholder relations, patient and healthcare provider advocacy and partnership programming.

Prior to joining Cohn & Wolfe in 2006, Joanne spent four years in the voluntary sector as Director of Communications for two leading, national healthcare organizations. With this experience behind her, she offers her corporate sector clients first-hand insight into non-profit organizations and their unique needs and challenges. This “insider’s” perspective on stakeholder organizations, combined with Joanne’s years of experience consulting to the pharmaceutical sector, provides clients with a unique view on building strategic partnerships and investing in stakeholders.

During her career spanning two decades, Joanne has developed extensive expertise in a variety of therapeutic areas, including neurology, oncology and rare diseases such as blood and metabolic disorders. Joanne has built and implemented fully integrated patient advocacy programs, which include: guidance on communicating effectively with government, the media and peers, and has led a number of successful pan-Canadian provincial reimbursement campaigns.

In the regulatory environment, both federally and provincially, Joanne works seamlessly with her pharmaceutical clients to maximize partnerships with the non-profit sector to support drug approval and reimbursement efforts, as well as overall marketing objectives.
