Cohn & Wolfe has an immediate opportunity for a senior-level Account Group Director – Digital Strategy in our Toronto office and is looking for someone whose enthusiasm for the intersection of digital communications and business achievement helps to define them. The ideal candidate will have substantial (8-10+ years) experience, a passion for digital and social media, combined with a leadership mindset, the ability to operate in a multi-faceted role and an entrepreneurial instinct for growing client relationships.
Job description

The ideal candidate will act as an evangelist for the agency and be responsible for helping to guide colleagues and clients alike in the development of integrated communication programs; being one step ahead on the continual evolution of the digital/social landscape and sharing with colleagues and clients alike; determining how the rapid evolution of digital channel development applies to client strategies; planning and executing awesomely creative client programs; and supervising the execution of digital initiatives – all while collaborating with highly skilled colleagues to exceed our client’s business goals and expectations.

We’re looking for someone with the interest in growing personally and professionally, and who is a strong team player. If you work best on your own, this is not the place for you.

This position will involve managing, motivating and cultivating colleagues – all of whom are highly-skilled communicators. The evangelist will contribute to maintaining and expanding existing business, winning new business and setting the tone for how it’s managed.

Above all, with evangelistic fervor, this new addition to the team will drive Cohn & Wolfe’s digital profile.

About you

And you are not shy about it. You have experience leading and working on a variety of digital and social media campaigns and a well-established network.

You have the ability to lead and motivate consulting teams and clients, as well as attracting and growing client accounts.

Essential Job Duties:

  • Develop and grow relationships with key client contacts
  • Lead the planning, implementation and measurement of digital programs (influencer outreach, content creation, online community development, research and analytics)
  • Develop insight and strategy for our clients in the realm of digital media
  • Work closely with team leaders to manage client expectations and help drive client plans
  • Manage account teams of junior staff; motivating to ensure superior client service
  • Grow existing client business
  • Manage profitability and financial aspects of accounts
  • Develop, pitch and win new business opportunities for C&W
  • Work to meet and exceed company goals for profitability and growth

About You:

  • Have a proven ability to think creatively and boldly
  • Continually stay abreast of latest digital marketing industry trends, including paid search, display, content marketing and more
  • Provide guidance on new opportunities within each emerging channel for all strategic accounts
  • Have solid understanding of measurement frameworks, research, analytics and strategy
  • Have experience in an interactive agency or PR/advertising agency
  • Develop and champion new program enhancements and initiatives internally
  • Demonstrate knowledge and experience with managing interactive production (e.g. website development, audio/video production, mobile assets) from concept to completion
  • Provide ongoing support for internal marketing initiatives
  • Are a critical thinker with the ability to conduct and analyze web-based research
  • Have proven experience managing simultaneous projects across multiple industries
  • Possess strong program management and implementation skills
  • Are highly-skilled at motivating, developing and leading others
  • Have an ability to work efficiently with cross-practice teams
